Industrial Heritage: Voices, Faces, Traces

Where? 8, Avenue des Hauts-Fourneaux, L-4362 Esch-sur-Alzette Art, Culture & Literature

Places, memories and passionate people bringing Luxembourg’s industrial history back to life.

As part of the theme “Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reinvent”, the National Centre for Industrial Culture (CNCI), in partnership with several organisations, is organising guided tours of various sites of Luxembourg’s industrial heritage. This initiative highlights the people involved in preserving, transmitting and transforming these places, while encouraging encounters and exchanges with the public.

Throughout the visits, participants will discover the sites and the human stories connected to them. Witnesses, volunteers and pioneers will share their memories and their involvement in the early stages of rehabilitation projects.

On 17 and 18 October 2026, these visits and informal discussions will offer an opportunity to explore the living history of industrial heritage.

Through this initiative, the CNCI aims to highlight the voices, faces and traces behind the preservation of industrial heritage, while emphasising the importance of collective commitment in its transmission and reinvention.
