Description
As a preview for 2023, ride a section of the upcoming «Minett Cycle» on the PC6 route between Sanem and the station in Bettembourg
In southern Luxembourg lies the Minett region, the land of red earth (Terre Rouge), named after the ore-bearing rock in the soil that also colours it red. In the future, a continuous, fully signposted cycling route will run through the entire region: the «Minett Cycle». After 2023, a total of 150 kilometres (divided into three loops) of cycling infrastructure will invite discovery.
Until then, you can already cycle sections of the future «Minett Cycle» and discover the unique Minett region along the way. On this section, the path between Sanem and Bettembourg in the southern region runs right through the heart of the region; north past Esch-sur-Alzette, Lallange and Schifflange, then on to Bettembourg. The route passes several important sites of the historical steel industry. For example, it goes past the old industrial wasteland of the former "Metzeschmelz" with its "Cueva 2022" exhibition in Schifflange.
