Spektrum
Where? 14-16, rue de la bruyère, L-3714 Rumelange
SPEKTRUM is a venue focused on experiential and immersive process-based cultural and artistic practices and creative tourism.
SPEKTRUM wants to be a witness to the synergy between the heritage of the past and the cultural perspectives of tomorrow. An exceptional, immersive place, an intersection between tourist accommodation and a center for contemporary artistic creation.
Here you can enjoy a complete tourist offer that is created together with the residents. You will have the opportunity to pursue a creative or cultural activity together with the people of Rumelange, allowing you to come into contact with the local population, make meaningful connections and have authentic experiences. To create this experience, the site of SPEKTRUM will be transformed, using numerous technological devices, into a real immersive machine that remixes functions and uses and at the center of which rests the art workshop of the late sculptor Albert Hames.
The boundaries between real and virtual, past and future, heritage and contemporary creation, near and far, between artist and public, resident and traveler, citizen and tourist, creator and observer are disappearing.
Tourist accommodation
From November 2022, two immersive guest rooms can be rented. The space will reveal to its residents the interior of Albert Hames' studio and allow intimate moments of the sculptor's artistic work. The immersive suite will immerse its residents in an extraordinary immersive experience using virtual reality technology. The two guest rooms each offer space for up to 4 people and can be reserved for one night, a stay of several days or even longer stays.
In the medium term, once the area development has been completed, a total of ten guest rooms and studios can be rented depending on the guests' desired level of immersion. From a simple tourist stay in a themed room with the possibility of actively or passively participating in certain local activities, to a stay combined with learning and practicing artistic activities, including “creative” stays.
