Konschthal Groovy Thursdays

In the framework of the exhibitions « TEKTONIK » by Titus Schade, « PHANTOM LIMBS » by Hisae Ikenaga and the two exhibitions presented by Elektron « FUTURE_FORECAST » by Ziyang Wu & Mark Ramos and « FRAMERATE: Pulse of the Earth » by ScanLAB Projects

Every Thursday evening (from 18.07 – 29.08.2024), take advantage of these long summer evenings to visit the Konschthal.

Discover the second edition of the Groovy Thursdays, that will take place every Thursday evening from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm during the summer. As an after-work or to kickstart your evening, this nocturnal event is an opportunity to stroll through our exhibitions and enjoy a dedicated cultural program: guided tours, project presentations, workshops mixing disciplines and genres are being served.

The Konschthal Groovy Thursdays are also the ideal place for a relaxing moment with snacks and drinks.

Last but not least, in collaboration with Radio 100komma7, Konschthal invites several Luxembourgish artists to curate and create a personal playlist for each evening. Come discover the surprising and eclectic sounds presented by these local artists.

Here, it's all about the art of relaxation.

The programme

5pm - 10pm: APERO – WORKSHOP: RAKU by Lucilio Gonçalves (potter/ceramist)

Around the exhibition PHANTOM LIMBS by Hisae Ikenaga.

Immersed in an ancient Japanese technique where fire and smoke give birth to unique and fascinating ceramic pieces. While a normal enamel firing process takes 40 hours, the Raku firing only takes about 45 minutes. It's all the magic of this extraordinary process! and perhaps also the explanation of its name "Raku" which means "Happiness."

Raku ceramics carry a very strong spiritual and aesthetic dimension that is rooted in simplicity, beauty, and chance. Drop in during this Groovy Thursday to discover this unique technique and help us realize it collectively.

6:30pm – 7:15pm: Guided tour around the exhibitions in French

During a 45-minute guided tour, a mediator will present to you the major artworks as well as the concept of the current exhibition.

7pm - 9pm: Playlist in collaboration with Radio 100komma7

Snacks and small bites on site. The bar is open throughout the evening.
