TEMPORARY EXHIBITION: Flashback!

Where? 1, rue John Ernest Dolibois, L-4573 Differdange Other, Art, Culture & Literature

The evolution of photography

"In tribute to Mr. Jos Glauden, his family has loaned his valuable collection of cameras to the municipality of Differdange. This collection will be presented at the Luxembourg Science Center as part of a temporary exhibition, enhanced by interactive workshops allowing visitors to discover the world of photography in a fun and immersive way."

Travel back in time and explore the fascinating history of photography, from the earliest experiments in the darkroom to the digital age and the most advanced digital cameras. Discover how light, technology, and human creativity have come together to capture moments in time and tell the story of the world in a different way.

From 19th-century daguerreotypes to iconic 20th-century film cameras and today's digital sensors, this exhibition traces the major milestones of an invention that has transformed the way we see, share, and remember.

Discover the pioneers of photography, such as Nicéphore Niépce, Louis Daguerre, George Eastman, and the Lumière brothers, and be inspired by the masterpieces and legendary cameras that marked each era.

The crazy idea of capturing light in order to freeze a moment in time has allowed us to relive the past.

Whether you are an expert or simply fascinated by photography, come visit the LSC and its temporary exhibition, from November 1, 2025, to March 1, 2026—open to the general public.

.

Please note that access to the temporary exhibition is included in the Luxembourg Science Center admission ticket, as is access to our large exploration room (over 100 interactive stations) and science shows (for ages 6 and up).
