The name „Jardin des Yak’s“ was given to the garden because of a significant collection of over 130 different varieties of Rhododendron yakushimanum (small rhododendrons usually not exceeding one meter in height). A large part of the garden is designed for acid-loving plants: rhododendrons (about 300), azaleas (around 50), pieris (about 30 varieties), kalmia latifolia (around 40 varieties), camellias, choisia, enkianthus campanulatus, skimmia japonica (about 20 varieties), daphne (about 15 varieties), etc.
At the back of the garden, a 40 m hedge composed exclusively of evergreen shrubs (laurels, box, ilex, euonymus, photinias, trochodendron, elaeagnus, viburnum, etc.) creates a beautiful screen with the nearby forest. Among the hundreds of shrubs, notable are the maples (about 30), cornus kousa and florida (about 30), ilex (about 10), viburnums (about 20), and witch hazels (about 15). A rose garden (with climbing roses) and about 100 roses (often English roses) are located in the center of the garden. Two large areas are reserved for perennials, one with 23 hydrangea paniculata planted in March 2018. The garden blooms throughout all seasons depending on plant varieties. Five small ponds and eight fountains are integrated.
Numerous benches allow visitors to rest. Around 60 pots with hostas and 10 pots with agapanthus are near the house. The decoration is varied and original, created by numerous international artists.
