Cycle path de la Terre Rouge (PC 8)
Description
A journey through forests and red canyons
Make sure you fill up your water bottles before taking on the Terre Rouge biking trail—the scenery is breath-taking! This route will introduce you to the exceptional cultural and natural heritage of the Terres Rouges region. In the mid-19th century, the Terre Rouge industrial region was developed as a major site for mining iron ore. When mining activity ceased, the land was slowly reclaimed by nature, creating an atypical landscape—and a feast for the eyes. The Terre Rouge Biking Trail runs through the reserve and links numerous tourist attractions. And of course, the trail is a joy for nature lovers: the route passes fields, forests, former open-pit mines and steep red cliffs. Use caution, however, as it uses roads open to traffic—it may not be suitable for young children.
