Minett Park Fond-de-Gras

Step into a time machine

Between all the historic buildings, the "Train 1900", the old-fashioned grocery store, the power station and the rolling mill train, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. But no, you are not dreaming, all this is very real. And it’s all waiting to be discovered at the Minett Park Fond-de-Gras. Once one of the most important mining sites in the Grand Duchy, it is now an open-air, life-size museum that invites you to explore the harder and softer sides of days gone by.

You can discover the village of Lasauvage, the old Giele Botter mine and the Celtic oppidum of Titelberg, and much more. You can even climb aboard a historic train, which has retained all its charm. You have to see it to believe it!

The Minett Park reopens on July 5th; the Train 1900 will once again take passengers from Pétange to the Fond-de-Gras, each Sunday at 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00; the Bois-de-Rodange station will not be served. Tickets must be reserved in advance.

The "Minièresbunn" will resume its service on July 26th. Until further notice, the mine visits will not take place.
