espace museologique 9.44

A historic day!

At the end of the summer of 1944, on September 9, the destiny of the people of Pétange changed forever. After years of Nazi occupation, their commune regained its freedom! The men and women fought hard for this freedom, and now it’s up to us to preserve their memory. This is one of the aims of the Maison Rouge, a museum that invites you to step back in time, into another context, and to follow an adventure full of twists and turns.

The exciting exhibition at the Maison Rouge that takes you on a journey to the heart of the Second World War, passing through the three main stages of the war: the invasion, the occupation and the liberation of Pétange. In addition to documents and photographs from the period, you can enjoy stories of freedom fighters available on iPads and projected on the walls and floors.
